Ciabatta Bread Pizza
A grown-up play on a childhood favorite ciabatta pizzas have become a family favorite in our house. This recipe is more of a guideline so don't feel as though you HAVE to add these items to your grocery list. Substitute your pantry staples wherever necessary.
P.S. This recipe makes a killer crostini!
Yields 8 squares. Serves 6-8ppl
Ingredients
1 loaf of ciabatta
1 16oz jar of your favorite tomato or white sauce
3 cups of fresh mozzarella [low moisture], gouda or fontina
1 cup of Parmigiano Reggiano
As much or as little Prosciutto or Pepperoni as you like - optional
Olive oil
Method
1.) Start by preheating your oven to 375 degrees. Next prepare a sheet pan by lining it with a sheet of parchment paper and spraying it with oil.
2.) Then begin cutting your ciabatta loaf in half lengthwise - it helps to use a serrated knife.
3.) Now for the fun part, building your pizzas! Get the kids involved with this step. Start layering your sauce of choice, cheese, meats or veggies, parm and then olive oil.
4.) Bake for about 15 minutes or until your pizza is golden brown and bubbly.
5.) Time to eat! Serve with a light salad or as is for a quick and easy meal.
Pst! These Ciabatta Bread Pizzas pair well with Chianti 😉
